Canton Vet Clinic Providing Comprehensive Pet Services
Wellness care and prevention are the cornerstones of our vet services. Our veterinarians strongly believe that that prevention is the best cure. We recommend annual wellness exams for pets. During this visit our vet will perform a full physical, administer diagnostic blood work and a fecal sample, and check to make sure that your pet is up to date on all vaccinations.
Vaccinations are extremely important to your pet's health. Just like with humans, vaccinations can prevent serious illnesses and event death. Keeping your pet current on vaccinations is also much more affordable than paying for expensive emergency pet care! We offer the following canine vaccinations: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus), Leptospirosis, Bordatella ('Kennel Cough') and Coronavirus. For cats, we offer the following feline vaccinations: FVRCCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Chlamydia and Panleukopenia), FELV (for Leukemia) and FIV (for feline AIDS). We also offer rabies vaccinations
Routine dental care is an essential part of pet wellness. Without proper cleanings, tartar and plaque can build up along the gum line of pets, leading to periodontal illnesses. If the gum line becomes infected, bacteria from this infection can enter the blood stream and infect internal organs including the liver, kidney and heart. An annual dental cleaning will ensure that your pet's teeth and gums are healthy. Our veterinarian will scrape and remove any built-up tartar and check for potential infections.
Senior Pet Care
As your pets age, you may notice that they move a little slower and may not hear or see as clearly as they once did. What you can't see is that your pet's internal organs, like the heart, liver and lungs, are also aging. Because many symptoms of age-related conditions may not be evident until the condition progresses, we recommend semi-annual exams for senior pets. Our veterinarian will administer basic tests including a blood chemistry panel, parasite evaluation and urinalysis to help us diagnose and effectively manage a health condition before it affects your pet's quality of life. We also recommend testing for hyperthyroidism in older cats. We love caring for senior pets and doing everything possible to keep them active well into their golden years!

We offer comprehensive diagnostic screening tests including heartworm testing, feline leukemia/feline immunodeficiency virus testing, fecal sample evaluations, and urine protein evaluations.
