Appointments & Reservations

We hope that this page will be useful in making your appointment at Acres Mill more time efficient and pleasant.  If you prefer, you can request an appointment using your Pet Portal.



Doctor's Appointments

  1. We encourage you to call and make an appointment prior to bringing your pet in to see the veterinarian.
  2. It would be beneficial to bring in a urine and/or fecal sample if relevent to your pet's symptoms (annual exams require fecals also).
  3. Please fast your pet the morning of your pet's appointment if we will be running bloodwork beyond a heartworm test (diabetic pets are an exception).
  4. Be sure to bring any pertinent records from your previous veterinarian.

Surgery Appointments

Pre-Operative Spay/Neuter Instructions

  1. Do not feed or give your pet water after midnight the night before surgery.
  2. Drop your pet off between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  3. Be sure that you bring your pet’s vaccine records with you.
  4. Your pet will stay in the hospital one night to be strictly cage rested to assist with critical healing.
  5. You will sign an anesthetic consent form with the following options that can be requested at an additional cost or declined:
    • Pre-Operative bloodwork $55.00
    • I.V. Catheterization w/ Fluids $80.00
    • Microchip $49.99
    • Pain Medication to take home prices vary

Post-Operative Spay/Neuter Instructions

  1. In most situations you can pick your pet up the same day, especially for routine spays and neuters.
  2. Your pet will need to be leash walked and restricted from strenuous activity for 7-10 days after surgery.
  3. If you notice any coughing, diarrhea or vomiting call us immediately.
  4. If you notice and redness, swelling or discharge at the incision site call us immediately.
  5. We recommend that you keep an Elizabethan Collar on your pet for 7-10 days after surgery.
  6. Unless otherwise discussed, there should not be any external sutures that need to be removed.

If your pet will be undergoing any other kind of surgical procedure please contact us to discuss any special instructions.

Boarding Appointments

  • Boarding drop-off and pick-up times are during normal business hours.
  • Our kennel staff works every day of the year, however, we are not open for drop-off or pick-up on Sundays and these major holidays:
    • New Year's Day
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day
  •  We provide food, but if your pet has a sensitive stomach we encourage you to bring your pet's regular diet.
  • You can bring personal items as long as you are aware that we are not responsible for any items that are soiled, chewed up or misplaced.
  • Please be sure to bring your pet's vaccine records if vaccines were not administered at our clinic.
  • Be sure to inform us if you will not be picking up your pet on the originally scheduled date.

Grooming Appointments

  • Please bring your pet's vaccine records if vaccines were not administered at our clinic.
  • Please allow at least 4 hours for your pet's groom to be completed.
  • If your pet's coat is matted, or you have a special concern or request, please ask to speak with a groomer prior to your dog or cat being groomed.
